Where I wish I were right now.

Greetings, everyone!

The first snow of the season had fallen yesterday, and this is the time of the year when some people start playing Christmas music and drinking eggnog, and the others are wishing they are somewhere warm while putting their sundresses and sandals into a storage box. Consider me the latter kind.

Don't get me wrong. Winter is nice and pretty, but I only think so when I am inside with the heater on. Also, walking to class at 7:50 a.m. with approximately 30% visibility and blowing wind was a complete struggle for me yesterday. I am from Indonesia, people, my body wasn't made for this.

With even colder weather coming soon, I made a list of places in Indonesia I want to go to the next time I go home. Here are the top three places that made it to my shortlist. Take me there already.

Nusa Lembongan

When I was on the way to Gili Trawangan in August 2015, the boat broke down and had to stop at Nusa Lembongan. At that point I was like, "I have to come back here because, oh my goodness, this place is beautiful." Look at those tiered houses and those people paddle boarding!

I also heard that you can get an open-water diving course and become PADI certified in Nusa Lembongan. I think that would be super cool if I had enough time (usually three to four days) to complete the courses.

Mount Batur (Northern Bali)

There's nothing sound better than relaxing your body at a hot spring overlooking a mountain, especially when you are currently stressing out about jobs and school. I've seen a lot of Bali tours offering sunrise trekking at Mount Batur and then just relaxing in the natural hot spring pool before going back to the hotel. Yes, please.

Komodo Island

Pulau Komodo (Komodo Island) is the only natural habitat for Komodo dragons in the world. Yes, this animal is scary, but it's really awesome that people actually care about these creatures and their natural habitat and still allow tourists to come see them. It should be obvious, though, that you shouldn't pet them. 😂

My friend told me Le Pirate offers cruises around Komodo Island and surrounding areas. They're super nice but quite pricey. I am pretty sure there are cheaper cruise tours out there; I just need to do more research on them.

Okay, maybe I should go back to studying now. I am looking forward to the day I come visit home again, but for now daydreaming is good in moderation. Time to do homework and apply for more jobs!

I hope you guys have a great weekend and stay warm. ❤️
